Mr. Kris will be lighting up the grill. Organized group games will include Bunco, Farkle, and LRC. After lunch will have board games like Scrabble, Rumicube and more. Who knows we might even build a puzzle. If inclement weather we will reschedule or refund..

Stocking Stuffer Tour
IN THE NORTH SHORE AREA, ILLINOIS

Get ready to “Stuff your Stocking” with a variety of items from Chicago’s North Shore. Your group will be met by a member of Chicago’s North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau staff at a pre-determined destination. Everyone will receive a customized “Stocking” to fill with items from each stop on your tour (minimum of 4 stops). We don’t want to give away the fun surprises, but this fun filled tour will be spiced, holidazed and ornamented. Don’t worry about the early start time, as we will make sure you are properly “fueled” for the day with morning coffee from one of our favorite stops along the route. This fun Holiday tour will include a special lunch on the water at Gale Street Inn Choice that day of soup or salad, Chicken Parmesan, Whitefish Almandine, or Ribs. Dessert Choice homemade Carrot Cake or Tiramisu.

Sanfilippo Estates is a hidden gem and a bucket list for certain. We experienced just a glimpse of the private estate at Christmas time. The Sanfilippo "Place de la Musique" is known worldwide for its magnificent collections of beautifully restored antique music machines, phonographs, arcade and gambling machines. Chandeliers, art glass, and the world's largest restored theatre pipe organ, the most spectacular European salon carousel in existence, street and tower clocks, steam engines and other functional mechanical antiques, are displayed within a breathtaking French Second Empire setting. Will enjoy a beautiful lunch in the clock tower house. We will listen to the carousel play and enjoy a included plated lunch (TBA) with vino flowing. Afterwards will head up to the main house for a concert in the theater room. Stop off at tree time Christmas creations and a quick run into the Fisher Nut outlet to grab some nuts for our holiday baking before returning home.

Explore rich holiday traditions from around the globe in Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light. At the Museum of Science and Industry. It began in 1942 with a single tree. Today, the Museum’s beloved annual celebration features a four-story, floor-to-dome Grand Tree, surrounded by a forest of more than 50 trees and displays decorated by volunteers to represent the holiday traditions from cultures around the globe. It’s the one-of-a-kind experience that brings a whole world of holiday joy under one roof. Lunch at Tre Krona (bucket-list experience) for there traditional all you can eat Christmas Norwegian/Swedish board. Will have a cup of Glug out by the fire to begin our experience. Over 7 different herrings and Norwegian fish lutefisk, assorted cheeses and so much more will available to taste. Will take time to explore The Swedish Shop next door to pick up some Norwegian holiday treats. We were here before covid it was an awesome experience! Laverne & Shirley Themed Tour of Milwaukee!

If you are a fan of the Laverne & Shirley show, you will appreciate seeing Milwaukee's City Hall which was the opening shot of the show. See Polish Flats and the Brewery that made Milwaukee Famous, "Shotz." We even make a stop to see Laverne's heartthrob, The Bronze Fonz Statue. Bring your camera for that! Our day includes touring Lakefront Brewery where you will enjoy 2 samples and a souvenir glass. Laverne’s pop was well known for his pizza served at the Pizza Bowl, so lunch is at a family-owned Pizzeria. The day also includes a game of mini-bowling because the girls have to keep their skills sharp for the Shotz Brewery Tournament. Top off the day with a frozen custard treat at Milwaukee's legendary and nostalgic Leon's Drive-In. Be ready for surprises along the way.

The Civil War Museum is like no other Civil War museum in the country. A docent lead tour of the seven states sent over one million men to serve in the Union army while providing much of the food and raw materials necessary for the northern states to carry on the war. Through the use of personal stories and narratives, the Museum also explores how the Civil War impacted the people on the Western home front before, during, and after the war by connecting the prewar causes to the postwar effects.
Docent lead tour of the Kenosha Public Museum is a natural sciences and fine and decorative arts museum on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan. Established in 1933, the Museum’s collections including 1,200 works of fine art. Exhibitions and programs feature mammoths, world cultures, Native Americans, zoology, geology, fossils, and fine and decorative arts. Frier lead tour of National Shrine of St. Maximilian at Marytown includes Retreat House, Conference Center and Gift Shop & Book Store, an educational Holocaust exhibit, relics of Saint Maximilian and several outdoor shrines, all set on 15 acres of beautiful land in Libertyville. At the center of Marytown is the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, considered one of the most beautiful pilgrimage sites in the nation. It is referred to as the “Third City of the Immaculate” modeled after the evangelization centers created by Kolbe at Niepokalanów, Poland and Nagasaki, Japan. No matter your level of fitness, this class will keep you moving. This class is perfect for the active adult who would like to start or continue on their fitness journey in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We will work on staying strong and active by adjusting to your specific needs.. Consistent exercise at any level can help you stay active, independent and strong.

We specialize in experiences, trips, programs and more designed for active adults keeping in mind their particular needs. This has been a life long dream of mine. We are taking a leap of faith to open up a new chapter of creating life long memories with the best people we know! What types of payment do you take?
Karried Away With Carrie accepts payments by cash, check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover card. Do you have a waitlist?
It is possible to be placed on a waitlist at no cost when maximum enrollment has been reached for a particular class program. What is your cancellation policy?
PROGRAM CANCELATION POLICY Karried Away With Carrie reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes as necessary. Programs may be canceled due to low enrollment. Register early to get the class you want at the time you want it. In the event that Karried Away With Carrie cancels a program, the participant will receive a full refund. If a program is cancelled in mid-session, a prorated refund will be issued. How do you keep in contact, especially if an experience is cancelled?
WE KEEP IN CONTACT We are able to use email to keep everyone informed on cancelled trips, activities or on possible new programs in the future. To do this we need a good email for everyone. Please send us an email to Carrie@Karriedawaywithcarrie.org and will reply back letting you know you are in! What is your refund policy?
REFUND POLICY No refunds will be made once a program has begun unless Karried Away With Carrie has altered or cancelled a program. If you need to drop-out of a program there will be a service fee of $3 to cover the cost of processing a refund. Karried Away With Carrie must be notified of cancelation by the register before the date of that program. Cancellations made after the program date are subject to a $3 service fee, plus any costs incurred by Karried Away With Carrie. Cancellations made with less than 10 day’s notice will not be able to receive a refund. |
